Golant Quay Users Association

The Quay Uses Association was founded in 1959 to ascertain ownership of the rights over the Quay and the use of the slipway

In November 2010 the Association purchased the land known as Golant Pill together with the main slip and Quay from Cornwall Council and formed Golant Quay Users Ltd to officially own it.  There are currently 10 committee members, the Chair is Peter Edwards and Treasurer is Fayre Hardy.

The Pill is very tidal, and very muddy, and is mostly used for winter storage. It is not suitable for regular access to the Fowey Estuary and there is also a low railway bridge to negotiate when care is needed on a rising tide.

Membership numbers average between 135 and 145 and each has an allocated berth for their boat.  Membership and mooring fees, run from 1 August to 31 July each year. There is a £15 joining fee for all new members, which are restricted to house owners within the Parish of St Sampson. Contact Peter on 01726 833141 or peterj.e.golant@gmail.com
